- Whilst every attempt has been made to support all legacy vehicles, the following previous models, due to their aging and unique vehicle protocols are not supported:

FORD’S NEXT GENERATION DIAGNOSTIC INTERFACE SUPPORTS NEW CAN-FD PROTOCOLS. Vehicle Communication Module 3 (VCM3) The VCM3 communicates with Ford and Lincoln vehicles via the 16-pin diagnostic link. This device is the core of vehicle diagnostics. An IDS software license subscription (sold separately) provides access to the software which uses the VCM3 hardware to perform vehicle diagnostics. VCM3 Additional Capabilities The VCM3 is capable of communicating on the J1708 in addition to the J1939 network which allows diagnostics on Medium Duty Trucks when used with the Rotunda Medium Duty Truck DLC adapter 164-R9860 and manufacturer specific software. The VCMII and VCMM are only capable of communication on the J1939 network when used with the DLC adapter. The VCM3 is capable of performing module reprogramming at increased speeds on soon to be released vehicles equipped with the new CAN-FD network. A power backup capacitor has been added which will keep the VCM3 powered up and communicating during low voltage conditions such as starting. |
