Dynamic Mode & Configurable Dynamics (SW206) for Jaguar & Land Rover. Activated via the Car Configuration File (CCF) and coded to your VIN / As-Built. This activation unlocks the Dynamic drive programme and the Configurable Dynamics menu, so you can tailor throttle response, gearbox shift mapping, steering weight and adaptive-damper (suspension) stiffness independently — instead of being limited to the factory preset drive modes.
What this activation does
- Enables the Dynamic mode button for sharper throttle, firmer suspension, weightier steering and faster gear changes.
- Unlocks the Configurable Dynamic Mode touchscreen menu so each chassis parameter can be set to your own preference.
- Where the hardware is present, switches on the Dynamic-i performance pages — live g-force, throttle/brake traces and powertrain telemetry on the infotainment screen.
- Coded remotely / mobile to your car's own As-Built configuration — no parts required.
Choose the option that matches your vehicle
On this page, select the setting that matches your car's hardware and the content you want displayed:
| Option | What it means |
|---|---|
| Not supported | The feature is not available on this vehicle/module and should stay off. Choose this only if your car cannot run Configurable Dynamics. |
| Dynamic-i Not Fitted | Enables Dynamic mode and the configurable menu, but the Dynamic-i performance-telemetry content is not installed, so those live-data pages are not shown. |
| Dynamic-i Content without Configurable Dynamic Mode Screen | Displays the Dynamic-i performance pages (g-meter, throttle/brake traces, powertrain data) but does not add the on-screen menu for configuring individual dynamic parameters. |
| Dynamic-i Content with Configurable Dynamic Mode Screen | The full package — both the Dynamic-i performance telemetry pages and the Configurable Dynamic Mode menu are enabled. Recommended where the hardware supports it. |
| Configurable Dynamic Mode Screen Without Dynamic-i Content | Adds the Configurable Dynamic Mode menu (throttle, gearbox, steering and suspension tuning) but without the Dynamic-i telemetry pages. |
| Error | A fault / invalid-state value — not a selectable configuration. Do not choose this; it is listed only because it exists in the factory CCF enumeration. |
Key terms explained
- CCF (Car Configuration File) — the master file in your vehicle that tells each module which features are switched on; editing it is how factory options are activated.
- As-Built — the exact factory configuration data for your specific VIN. We code to this so the change is correct for your car.
- Dynamic mode — JLR's sport drive programme: sharper throttle, firmer dampers, heavier steering and quicker gear changes.
- Configurable Dynamics — lets you set each of those parameters individually rather than using one fixed preset.
- Configurable Dynamic Mode Screen — the touchscreen menu used to make those individual adjustments.
- Dynamic-i — the JLR InControl performance app that shows live vehicle telemetry (g-force, acceleration/braking, powertrain data) on the infotainment display.
- Adaptive Dynamics — the electronically controlled dampers that vary suspension stiffness, adjusted by this feature.
The CCF parameters behind Dynamic mode and Configurable Dynamics
The dropdown above maps to these values in the Car Configuration File:
| CCF address | Parameter | Block | Byte | Bits | Values (from the CCF data set) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0x2387 | Dynamic-i | 0x23 | 8 | 7–0 | 01 = not fitted, 02 = Dynamic-i content without Configurable Dynamic Mode screen, 03 = Dynamic-i content with Configurable Dynamic Mode screen, 04 = Configurable Dynamic Mode screen without Dynamic-i content. |
| 0x5741 | ConfigDynamicMode | 0x57 | 4 | 1–0 | 01 = not fitted, 02 = fitted. |
| 0x2B21 | Personalisation Mode / Configurable Dynamic Mode | 0x2B | 2 | 1 | 00 = not fitted, 01 = fitted (older data set). |
| 0x5132 | DynamicProgMode | 0x51 | 3 | 2–0 | 01 = not available for selection, 02 = available without timeout, 03 = available with timeout. |
| 0x6247 | DynamicLiteMode | 0x62 | 4 | 7–5 | Dynamic Lite programme availability (same 01 / 02 / 03 scheme). |
| 0x7D87 | SVDynamicMode | 0x7D | 8 | 7–5 | SV Dynamic programme availability (same 01 / 02 / 03 scheme). |
| 0x1347 | Terrain Response Fitment | 0x13 | 4 | 7–0 | 06 = Dynamic and Configurable Dynamic Mode; 07 = Winter reset, Dynamic and Configurable Dynamic Mode. |
| 0x2A21 | TO/JDO ECU / Dynamic button | 0x2A | 2 | 1 | 00 = not fitted, 01 = fitted (older data set). |
Dynamic mode depends on the chassis hardware fitted (adaptive dampers, active roll control / 6D Dynamics, electronic active differential) — we read your As-Built first and only enable what your car can drive. Exhaust-valve parameters belong to SW204 and are not part of this activation.
Where Dynamic mode comes from — model history
Model years are the earliest each programme existed on the line (2013 → 2026):
| Model | Platform | Model years | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Range Rover Sport | L494 | 2013–2022 | Terrain Response 2 with the Dynamic programme introduced 2013; Configurable Dynamics on Adaptive Dynamics cars. |
| Range Rover / Range Rover Sport | L460 / L461 | 2022–2026 | Dynamic and Configurable Dynamics present on the platform. |
| Range Rover Sport SV | L461 | 2024–2026 | SV Dynamic mode (0x7D87) on the 4.4L twin-turbo V8 P635. |
| Defender OCTA | L663 | 2025–2026 | Launched 2024 (Goodwood): 6D Dynamics and OCTA mode — the SV-style Dynamic variant. |
Model years are the earliest each programme existed on the line; Jaguar JDO (Jaguar Drive Optimisation) cars use the same parameters under the JDO name. We confirm by VIN.
Two ways we switch this on — both remote, no parts
Depending on model year and architecture, Dynamic mode and the Configurable Dynamics menu is enabled by one of two methods. We pick the correct one for your VIN — you do not need to know which in advance.
- CCF editing over OBD — on EVA2 cars the parameters above are set in the Car Configuration File and written back against your As-Built; the chassis, gateway and infotainment modules then expose the Dynamic programme and the Configurable Dynamics menu already in their firmware.
- OEM-tool online configuration — where the module holding the flag needs its configuration re-issued from the manufacturer’s programming database rather than a direct CCF value, the same result is completed remotely through the OEM diagnostic tool’s online configuration for that module.
Either route is performed over the OBD diagnostic port, remote and mobile, with no bench work and no parts. The change is reversible the same way.
